Booking Terms

These terms apply to every comedy show booked through FunnyPeople.lol, operated by [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME] ("FunnyPeople", "we", "us"). "Client" or "you" means the person or organization booking the show. By submitting a booking request and paying a deposit, you agree to these terms.

1. Booking requests and quotes

A booking request sent through our website, by email or through a FunnyPeople sales representative is not a confirmed booking. We reply with a written quote listing the date, show length, package, price, travel and sound requirements. Quotes are valid for 7 days unless the quote says otherwise.

2. Confirming your booking

Your booking is confirmed only when you have accepted the quote in writing and we have received your deposit of 50% of the total show fee. Until then, the date is not held and may be offered to other clients.

3. Payment

1. Deposit: 50% of the total fee, due when you accept the quote.
2. Balance: the remaining 50%, due no later than 7 days before the show date. For bookings made less than 7 days before the show, the full fee is due at booking.
3. Series and package bookings (venue series, Member Night quarterly): the 50% deposit applies to the first show. The schedule for paying each later show is set out in your quote.
4. If the balance is not received by the due date, we may cancel the show and keep the deposit.
5. Payments are made by credit card through our secure payment provider or by another method listed in your quote. Listed prices are charged in Canadian dollars (CAD) for events in Canada and in US dollars (USD) for events in the United States, and do not include applicable taxes. The currency is stated on your quote.

4. Cancellation by you

1. The deposit is non-refundable once paid.
2. If you cancel 7 or more days before the show, you owe nothing beyond the deposit. If you have already paid the balance, it will be refunded.
3. If you cancel less than 7 days before the show, the full fee is owed and is non-refundable.
4. We will try to move your show to a new date instead of cancelling. A date change requested 14 or more days before the show may be accepted once, subject to availability, with your deposit carried over.

5. Cancellation or changes by us

If we cancel a confirmed show for any reason other than your breach of these terms, we will refund all amounts you've paid. Touring schedules change, so we may replace a performer with another professional comedian of equal or greater experience, at no extra cost to you (our lineup guarantee). We will tell you about any lineup change as soon as we know.

6. What we provide

For each booking we provide the comedians and show length listed in your quote, coordination of the performance schedule, and the promotion package described for your package (such as posters, social graphics, sample copy and a marketing guide). Travel and sound, if included, are listed in your quote.

7. What you provide

• The venue, a stage or performance area, seating and lighting suitable for a comedy show.
• A working microphone and speaker, unless your quote says we are supplying sound.
• Ticket sales, local promotion and event staff, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
• A safe, respectful environment for the performers, with reasonable crowd control and compliance with all venue, alcohol and licensing laws.
• Accurate information about your audience, the agreed comedy style and any topics to avoid.

8. Show content

You choose the show style (clean, adult or uncensored) and may list topics to avoid. Performers will make reasonable efforts to follow these instructions. Comedy is subjective, and a guest's personal reaction to material within the agreed style is not grounds for a refund.

9. Start time and delays

Shows start at the time agreed in your quote. If the show is delayed by more than 30 minutes for reasons within your control, the show length may be shortened and the full fee remains payable.

10. Recording and promotion

You may not record, broadcast or stream a performance without written permission from FunnyPeople and the performers. Performers may film their own sets for personal promotional use. You may use the promotional materials we supply to advertise your show.

11. Events beyond anyone's control

Neither side is responsible for failing to perform because of events outside its reasonable control, such as severe weather, public health orders, natural disasters, travel disruption or venue closure. In that case we will work with you to reschedule. If a new date can't be agreed within 90 days, we will refund any balance paid; the deposit is non-refundable except as required by law.

12. Liability

Our total liability for any claim related to a booking is limited to the fees you paid for that booking. We are not responsible for lost ticket, food or beverage revenue, or for indirect losses. You are responsible for the venue, the audience and any damage caused by your guests.

13. Sales representatives

Sales representatives may refer bookings to FunnyPeople and are named on your booking request. Only a written quote from FunnyPeople confirms prices and terms.

14. General

These terms, together with your accepted quote, are the full agreement between you and FunnyPeople. If your quote and these terms disagree, the quote wins. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. We may update these terms; the version in effect when you pay your deposit applies to your booking.
